Malware may reinstall itself multiple times if you don't delete its core files. This may require tracking down dozens of files in different locations.
We recommend downloading Restoro to eradicate Malware for you (it should cut down the time to about 15 minutes).
What is Kerkoporta ransomware? And how does it execute its attack?
Kerkoporta ransomware, also known as EncryptedSadly, is a new ransomware infection in Greek which is currently on the loose, infecting computers using different methods. It aims to encrypt the files on the infected computer. This malware was created using Visual Studio 2017 environment. According to the recent reports from LosVirus.es experts, the latest version of Kerkoporta ransomware is still not capable of proper encryption. However its screen-locking function works flawlessly so its victims still won’t be able to use their infected computers. It also modifies the Windows Registry settings so that when you start your PC, your screen will be locked and inaccessible. Aside from that, Kerkoporta also drops a WindowsUpdates.exe file to block access to data and encode information. Even though it seems to target Greek users that does not mean that it won’t infect other users as it spreads using different methods.
The moment it enters the system, it immediately scans the entire drive of the computer looking for the following file extensions:
.PNG .PSD .PSPIMAGE .TGA .THM .TIF .TIFF .YUV .AI .EPS .PS .SVG .INDD .PCT .PDF .XLR .XLS .XLSX .ACCDB .DB .DBF .MDB .PDB .SQL .APK .APP .BAT .CGI .COM .EXE .GADGET .JAR .PIF .WSF .DEM .GAM .NES .ROM .SAV CAD Files .DWG .DXF GIS Files .GPX .KML .KMZ .ASP .ASPX .CER .CFM .CSR .CSS .HTM .HTML .JS .JSP .PHP .RSS .XHTML. During the encryption, it appends the .encryptedsadly extension to the damaged files. The ransomware then locks the screen of the affected computer which contains its ransom message. Here’s the ransom note translated to English:

To restore the encrypted file, right-click on it and select Properties, a new window will pop-up, then proceed to Previous Versions. It will load the file’s previous version before it was modified.
