Malware may reinstall itself multiple times if you don't delete its core files. This may require tracking down dozens of files in different locations.
We recommend downloading Advanced System Repair to eradicate Malware for you (it should cut down the time to about 15 minutes).
What is Craftul ransomware? And how does it execute its attack?
Craftul ransomware is a new file-encrypting threat that was first spotted in the last week of June 2019. According to crypto malware experts, it seems to be a new and improved version of Stroman ransomware. It uses a “craftul” suffix in the files it encrypt as well as the RSA 1024 encryption algorithm in locking files. It has similarities with other ransomware threats like Insta ransomware but it is yet to be proven.
The second its malicious payload is dropped in the system, it begins to execute its attack by adding more malicious files and placing them on system folders to prevent any programs from interrupting its attack. It also modifies the Windows Registry in order to run on every system boot. Once these changes are applied, it will start to scan the computer looking for files with the following formats:
.3gp, .7z, .apk, .avi, .bmp, .cdr, .cer, .chm, .conf, .css, .csv, .dat, .db, .dbf, .djvu, .dbx, .docm, doc, .epub, .docx .fb2, .flv, .gif, .gz, .iso .ibooks,.jpeg, .jpg, .key, .mdb .md2, .mdf, .mht, .mobi .mhtm, .mkv, .mov, .mp3, .mp4, .mpg .mpeg, .pict, .pdf, .pps, .pkg, .png, .ppt .pptx, .ppsx, .psd, .rar, .rtf, .scr, .swf, .sav, .tiff, .tif, .tbl, .torrent, .txt, .vsd, .wmv, .xls, .xlsx, .xps, .xml, .ckp, .zip, .java, .py, .asm, .c, .cpp, .cs, .js, .php, .dacpac, .rbw, .rb, .mrg, .dcx, .db3, .sql, .sqlite3, .sqlite, .sqlitedb, .psd, .psp, .pdb, .dxf, .dwg, .drw, .casb, .ccp, .cal, .cmx, .cr2
Once it finds its targeted files, it will begin the encryption process by applying the AES 256 cipher in encoding the files. Following data encryption, it appends the .craftul extension to every encrypted file and generate a file named “FilesInfo.txt” which contains the following message:
“All your important files were encrypted on this PC.
All files with .craftul extension are encrypted.
Encryption was produced using unique private key RSA-1024 generated for this computer.

Try to recover your encrypted files using the Shadow Volume copies
Restoring your encrypted files using Windows’ Previous Versions feature will only be effective if Craftul ransomware hasn’t deleted the shadow copies of your files. But still, this is one of the best and free methods there is, so it’s definitely worth a shot.
To restore the encrypted file, right-click on it and select Properties, a new window will pop-up, then proceed to Previous Versions. It will load the file’s previous version before it was modified. After it loads, select any of the previous versions displayed on the list like the one in the illustration below. And then click the Restore button.
