Malware may reinstall itself multiple times if you don't delete its core files. This may require tracking down dozens of files in different locations.
We recommend downloading Restoro to eradicate Malware for you (it should cut down the time to about 15 minutes).
What is CryptoManiac ransomware? And how does it perform its attack?
CryptoManiac ransomware is a file-encoding malware designed to encrypt files to leave them inaccessible to its victims. It demands victims to pay ransom in exchange for data recovery. It makes use of the AES cipher in corrupting its targeted files and insists on paying $500 in Bitcoins as soon as possible. Cybercriminals behind CryptoManiac ransomware encourage its victims to use the REQUEST RESTORE tool to recover their encrypted files.
CryptoManiac ransomware infects system through a file named CryptoManiac.py according to the analysis done by security experts. Various techniques could be used in distributing this malicious file. Try to recover your encrypted files using the Shadow Volume copies
Restoring your encrypted files using Windows’ Previous Versions feature will only be effective if CryptoManiac ransomware hasn’t deleted the shadow volume copies of your files. But still, this is one of the best and free methods there is, so it’s definitely worth a shot.
To restore the encrypted file, right-click on it and select Properties, a new window will pop-up, then proceed to Previous Versions. It will load the file’s previous version before it was modified. After it loads, select any of the previous versions displayed on the list like the one in the illustration below. And then click the Restore button.
