Malware may reinstall itself multiple times if you don't delete its core files. This may require tracking down dozens of files in different locations.
We recommend downloading Advanced System Repair to eradicate Malware for you (it should cut down the time to about 15 minutes).
What is Matrix ransomware? And how does it implement its attack?
Matrix ransomware is a file-encrypting malware that was first discovered in 2016 in the form of a fake FBI warning. After that, its developers were silent for a while but came back again in 2017 with a new version. And now apparently, its developers are feeling quite productive as they release a new variant of the Matrix ransomware in April 2018.
This new version of Matrix ransomware is installed via Remote desktop services and is a more advanced ransomware with more debugging messages and usage of a cipher to wipe free space in infected computers. Once it is able to infiltrate a system, it will open two windows that will display the status of the infection. When the files are already encrypted, it will append the.[RestoreFile@tutanota.com] extension to each one of them and drops its ransom note in a file named “ReadMe_To_Decrypt_Files.txt” which contains quite a lengthy ransom note that states:
“WHAT HAPPENED WITH YOUR FILES?
Your documents, databases, backups, network folders and other important files are encrypted with RSA-2048 and AES-128 ciphers.
More information about the RSA and AES can be found here:
