What is nJoyMovies Now? And how does it work?

nJoyMovies Now, also known as NJoyFilmNow or nJoyFilmNow add-on is advertised as a browser extension for Google Chrome browser that helps users to look for their favorite movies and watch them for free online. Many users might find this program useful especially the ones who are fond of streaming movies online. However, this extension is actually a browser hijacker that could hijack your PC without your knowledge.
Upon its installation, nJoyMovies Now will modify your Google Chrome settings by replacing the default search engine and default URL for the New tab without your permission. Such behavior is common among browser hijackers and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. According to researchers, nJoyMovies Now can also monitor your online activities so it can collect various information including your IP address, third party website cookies, search queries, browsing history, OS version, etc. Note that the information might be shared with third parties and be used to generate more sponsored content like pop-ups, in-text links, and banners and to increase revenue from pay-per-click marketing. You have to be careful as some of these sponsored contents are not to be trusted as they could redirect you to highly suspicious web pages that may try to get your personal information or worse, urge you to download a malware-laden software or file. Remember that cybercriminals also use browser hijackers like nJoyMovies Now in injecting a malware onto your system so you have to remove this browser hijacker as quickly as you can.
How is nJoyMovies Now disseminated online?
nJoyMovies Now is packed together with other unknown and suspicious programs in a software bundle and is disseminated through free file sharing sites. The hijack begins when you install such packages without care. To make sure no unwanted programs get installed on your computer again you must always opt for the Custom or Advanced setup whenever you install any freeware or shareware. This way, you can discard any extra programs added in the package.
