Top 5 Biggest PC Games to Look Forward to in 2015

2014 was another great year for PC gaming. The “Glorious PC Gaming Master Race” welcomed more brothers into its midst and gamers were delighted with high-end titles like Far Cry 4, Shadow of Mordor, and Dark Souls II.

Hey, even the new Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was pretty entertaining on PC.

But 2015 will bring a whole new bounty of riches to the shores of PC gaming. Here are the biggest, best, and most important titles we have to look forward to in 2015:

5) Grand Theft Auto 5

GTA 5 was released on Xbox One and Playstation 4 late in 2014. The PC was conspicuously absent from the “next gen” release. Maybe Rockstar was polishing up the scalable graphics and larger cities. Or maybe they just wanted to reduce the number of Xbox One and PS4 gamers who chose to pirate the game on PC instead of buying it for their consoles.

Whatever the case may be, PC gamers are finally going to enjoy GTA 5 on January 27, 2015.

Some PC gamers haven’t played the game at all, in which case they’re in for a treat. Most people – including me – beat the game on console long ago and are looking forward to explore a rejuvenated Los Santos.

4) No Man’s Sky

No Man’s Sky deserves a mention on this list purely for its ambition. This game isn’t just open world: it’s open universe. Players can go anywhere they want, traveling from one planet to another. Each planet has unique creatures, geological formations, plants, and intelligent life forms.

You can collect materials and trade those materials for better spacecraft and equipment. You, the humble astronaut sent to explore the planet, have been tasked with

The game is procedurally generated, which is why it can be so huge. In other words, worlds are generated in-game as opposed to being individually created by developers.

In early gameplay footage, we’ve seen everything from spaceships dodging asteroids to walking through a desert beside massive dinosaurs. It may be the most ambitious PC game of the year, and I can’t wait to see if it fulfills its massive potential.

The game is currently scheduled for release in 2015. Since the developer hasn’t specific anything more than that, you can expect Q3 or Q4 2014 for No Man’s Sky.

3) Batman: Arkham Knight

Arkham Knight is set one year after the events of 2011’s Batman: Arkham City. Like all of the other Arkham games, it features a unique combat system. But there’s one major improvement gamers are already getting excited about: there’s a freakin Batmobile driveable vehicle.

That’s right: for the first time in franchise history, you can drive the Batmobile. Players can summon it to their location on foot or in the air (the car will meet you when you land). Your Batmobile will be upgraded throughout the game with new abilities, armor, and weapons.

Who cares what goes on in the rest of the game? If that Batmobile alone didn’t get you interested, then the new Arkham game may not be for you.

2) The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is one of the most hotly anticipated games of 2015. The Witcher and The Witcher 2 were both amazing RPGs. Gamers loved the storytelling and the unique fantasy world.

Of course, the jaw dropping graphics certainly help as well. The Witcher 2 was released way back in April 2011 and the graphics still blow my mind today.

Why should you get excited about The Witcher 3? Because for the first time, the franchise will be open world. You can go anywhere and do just about anything. You’re playing as the same Witcher (Geralt).

To get an idea of what an open world Witcher game is going to feel like, check out the E3 2014 gameplay demo below:

At the end of that video, Geralt is on a peak fighting off a griffin. Take a look around him. You can travel to all of the mountains, villages, and forests you see on the map. It’s going to be nuts.

1) Star Wars: Battlefront

What do you get when you combine the organized chaos of Battlefield with the canon of the Star Wars universe? You get Battlefront. Star Wars Battlefront was an amazing game which for some reason never got more than one sequel.

That’s going to change in 2015, as EA is bringing Star Wars Battlefront back to life with the Frostbite 3 engine. If that doesn’t get you fired up, then I don’t even know what to tell you.

We don’t know anything about Battlefront at this point. Even the E3 video from 2014 was vague and featured very little gameplay or even concept art:

Still, just throwing words like “DICE”, “Frostbite 3 engine”, and “Star Wars Battlefront” into a sentence is enough to get any Battlefront fan extremely excited for 2015. Let’s just hope EA doesn’t kill the franchise with uncreative sequels, DLCs, and microtransactions. EA plz.
